Music

As well as teaching Music at KS3 as part of the curriculum and KS4 as an option, Valentines also has a significant number of pupils receiving individual lessons in Woodwind, Brass, Violin, Cello, Guitar, Piano and Singing. We run an Orchestra, two Choirs and a Steel Pan group. In addition, an Indian Music specialist teaches Tabla, Sitar and Harmonium to pupils who wish to specialise in this genre.

All these activities culminate in an annual school concert, although there are a number of other performing opportunities available in events such as assemblies, open evenings and presentation evenings, as well as community and other borough-wide projects - for example the annual pensioner’s party and bi-annual Royal Albert Hall Redbridge School’s concert.
