Religious Education

Religious Education is about what makes people ’tick’. RE encourages the students to have confidence in their own beliefs and cultures, as well as valuing and respecting the values and beliefs of their classmates. Mohammed, Satvinder, Minesh and Jane can learn from each other and about each other.

At Key Stage 3 we study Christianity, Hinduism, Islam and Sikhism. At Key Stage 4 all pupils take the ’Religion & Life’ Short Course GCSE (Edexcel - A) and they have the opportunity to take a ’World Religions’ Full Course (AQA - C). In the sixth form the pupils take part in a conference in which they discuss an important issue with representatives of the six major religions.

RE prepares our young people for life in our increasingly multicultural society.
