Media Studies

The Media is all around us. There is no escaping television, cinema, radio, newspapers, magazines or the internet. For some it brings entertainment, information and enjoyment; for others it brings distress, conflict or anger. For all of us there is no escaping it in the 21st century.

At Valentines Media Studies is offered at GCSE and A level. Many areas of the Media are studied to give our students as rounded a background into the industry as possible. The key concepts are considered at all levels, especially audience. Contemporary media issues are debated along with more historical issues. Practical work is also an important part of all courses enabling our students to try their hand at putting into practice what they have studied in theory.
