Training:

Training School Status

In March 2006 we were delighted to become a designated training school in recognition of all the work we do to develop and innovate within our own school, our intensive programme of support for other schools and teachers and our plans to further the training opportunities for our staff and partners.

Our Specific Focuses

Being part of the Cambridge Consortium means that we work with 5 other outstanding schools to deliver high quality training to colleagues from all over England.

As a Leading Edge school we work closely with our partner schools to raise standards through joint projects, in school support and staff training. Our main focuses within Leading Edge are leadership, use of data, coaching and the quality of learning & teaching.

Our work within the RATL project focuses on supporting other schools in developing their practice and contributing to their school improvement through planned programs of support and school visits which are driven by their needs.

As the SSAT Student Leadership Hub for East London, we aim to develop the learning voice of students within our own school, as well as training and working with other schools to promote their own student leadership.

We welcome a large number of trainee teachers each year by working in partnership with a number of HEI providers. We also participate in the student associate scheme and a number of teaching programmes that are offered by the TDA including Open Schools.

Working with Valentines

We run Training Days throughout the year, that each focus on a particular theme. These are open to all our partner schools and any other schools that wish to be involved. Download our 2009/10 programme or Book Online.

Through the Cambridge Consortium, we run outstanding staff training courses aimed at developing specific skills for all teachers and leaders. Valentines High School courses have been highlighted in red.

Visitors are also welcome and individual programmes can be tailored to meet your needs, especially those of overseas visitors. For general enquiries, please contact Erafana Ali.

For more information on student voice training, contact Steve Woodley.
