Curriculum Intent for Business Studies
Provide a broad inclusive curriculum with flexible pathways through the key stages to allow students to maximise their attainment by developing or improving their skills through methods such as hand picking coursework units to prepare them for interviews, improve their communication skills, improve their independent skills and get them involved with local businesses to help ensure students are prepared for the working world.
Provide students with a range of enrichment opportunities such the Rymans Enterprise Challenge to build on their creativity, imagination, entrepreneurship and encourage them to become risk takers. We run trips such as Cadbury World, Wembley Stadium and more recently New York to link content to the real world. We organise speakers relevant to the curriculum that engage our students and raise their aspirations such as speakers from the Bank of England.
Produce students with high aspirations, resilience and independence so that they can maximise the opportunities they are given to progress while inspiring them to achieve their best. We use imaginative teaching that links to real businesses in the outside world and on many occasions require students to get involved in the community to makes students more equipped to deal with technological progress.
