It is a real privilege to be Headteacher of our outstanding school.
At Valentines High school, we are proud to be an integral part of our local community delivering the highest quality of education to our young people. We are an ambitious, high achieving 11-18 school where we want everyone to be the very best version of themselves that they can be.
Our aim is to ensure our students develop into happy, educated young people with the desire and drive to succeed. Our approach and exceptional teaching and support staff empower our students to unlock and optimise their full potential, develop skills to solve problems, make decisions, think critically, communicate ideas effectively and work well with others; to be well-rounded, global citizens.
Our partnership with parents is at the heart of our success and we firmly believe in family values and expect the highest standards of behaviours from our young people. We emphasise traditional standards of uniform, good manners, discipline, and respect whilst providing a relevant and very modern education. We are truly at the ‘cutting edge’ of new educational developments and leave no stone unturned in seeking ways to further enhance the educational experience of each and every one of our students.
We are dedicated to creating a personalised journey for every young person building on their unique needs, interests and strengths along with prioritising their social and emotional wellbeing. This is why the voice of our students is an important feature at Valentines. There are numerous opportunities for student leadership and everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas on the learning opportunities they receive and what helps them to make the best progress.
Our excellent examination results at both GCSE and A Levels place us in the top 10% of secondary schools nationally. The majority of our students can expect to progress to our successful and popular Sixth Form gaining places at high-ranking universities each year.
