The Curriculum Intent of Media Studies
The curriculum intent of Media Studies is to develop a student’s critical and analytical thinking of our dynamic media-saturated globalised age.
It’s vital that students have a critical knowledge and understanding of media texts, audiences, digital culture and its political economy context if they are to become informed global citizens who can evaluate competing sources of information.
They will be exposed to a rich and varied array of media texts in the pursuit of realising the intent to become well rounded global citizens.
From the practical element students will develop skills of enquiry, research, creativity, resilience and time management and therefore develop key RACCER attributes.
